URDU TRANSLATION AND CROSS-LANGUAGE VALIDATION OF THE MULTI-DIMENSIONAL JEALOUSY SCALE AMONG MARRIED INDIVIDUALS OF LAHORE PAKISTAN

The current study translated and validated the Multi-Dimensional Jealousy Scale (MJS) from English into Urdu. Age ranges of participants varied 25- 50 years (M = 29.14, SD 08.12, separate data were used for cross-language validation (n 80), Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) n 130, Confirmatory (CFA) 150 with same credentials. Semantic analysis forward-back translation methods (Brislin, 1976) purposes. Psychometric properties results showed good internal consistency reliability. Findings also retained original factor structure little variations on sample. Urdu MJS will help family-couple therapists researchers to effectively deal cognitive, emotional, behavioral jealousy in cultural context Pakistan.
